The beginnings of the Wisła Bridge Section date back to the year 1956 when the Energetyka was established – it was the first bridge section in Poland. From 1958, this team operated under the patronage of the Krakow House of Culture. In 1959, along with three other teams ("Zagłoba," "Olek," "Pinokio"), the KDK team joined the Wisła Sports Society. The spokesperson for this merger was a Wisła activist, KDK bridge player, and later the rector of AGH, Jan Janowski.

Over more than 40 years of the section's existence, Wisła bridge players achieved a difficult-to-count number of successes, winning prestigious international tournaments, earning medals at the European and World Championships, and achieving high positions in the Bridge Olympiads, not to mention national championships.

In recent years, the Wisła team has been competing in the second league; however, it is worth noting that, unlike numerous professional teams, they have maintained an amateur character.

The most prominent figure in the section was Andrzej Wilkosz, an active Wisła player from 1960 to 2012. His greatest triumphs were with another outstanding Wisła player, Łukasz Lebioda.

Andrzej Wilkosz is the author of the book "Decisive Deals" and the creator of one of the most popular bridge conventions - "2 clubs," known as "wilkosz."

Other key figures for the section include Czesław Kuklewicz, Włodzimierz Wala, Wit Klapper, Adam Zimnielski, Zbigniew Furdzik, and Aleksander Jezioro.

The golden years of the section were the period from 1968 to 1982 and the early 1990s when Wisła players included Marek Blat, Piotr Bizoń, and Hubert Jaworowski. The longtime section manager Janusz Szumiec greatly contributed to Wisła team's successes during this period.

In the 2014/2015 season, the team competed in the first league.
