Bernard Mond
Bernard Mond – born November 14, 1887, in Stanisławów, died July 5, 1957, in Kraków. He was a brigadier general in the Polish Army, president of the Kraków Regional Football Association, and president of WKS Wawel.
He was a member of Wisła Kraków's Council of Elders in 1933. Mond resigned from his position in the Council after several Wawel boxers transferred to Wisła, accusing Wisła of poaching these athletes.
In 1933, after incidents during a Cracovia vs. Wisła match, General Mond issued a ban on military personnel playing for civilian clubs. He explained that it was improper for an active-duty officer to leave the field amid the shouts and whistles of a crowd of thousands, stating, "We absolutely cannot allow that" (Przegląd Sportowy No. 48/1933). This ruling primarily affected Henryk Reyman, who was consequently forced to end his football career.
Mond was also a member of Wisła's Jubilee Committee in 1936.
