Barbara Ślizowska Wilk - (born on February 4th, 1935, in Krakow, passed away on February 2nd, 2023) was a gymnast, one of the best athletes in the history of the gymnastics section. She was a product of the coaching of Irena and Jerzy Lewicki, a two-time Olympian, and a bronze medalist at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. Her career could have been even more successful if it weren't for a knee injury that side-lined her from training for 2,5 years. At the age of 15, she secured the third place in the Polish Championships in Stalinogrod in 1949. The following year, she represented Poland at the World Championships in Basel, finishing in 5th place in the team standings. As the youngest athlete in Poland, she was honored with the title of a sports champion, all at the age of 16!
