Jerzy Lewicki was born on January 28th, 1904, in Krakow and passed away there on January 4th, 1988.

A product of the Sokoł athletic organization, where he trained in gymnastics, he represented the country in this sport in the 1930s. In the post-war period, he served as a gymnastics coach for Korona, Wawel, Cracovia, and Wisła.

He became associated with Wisła in 1946 when, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the club's establishment, he organized gymnastic exhibitions. A year later, he founded the gymnastics section at TS Wisła and became the coach of Wisła's gymnasts, achieving many successes, including on the international stage.

In the 1960s, Lewicki served as the national gymnastics team coach and also taught at the WSWF in Krakow.

Jerzy Lewicki was a great patriot. In 1918, he abandoned his studies to defend Lwów and fought in the September campaign.

In Krakow, at the age of 84, one of the most outstanding athletes, coaches, and administrators in Polish gymnastics - JERZY LEWICKI - passed away. He achieved his greatest sporting successes in the interwar period as an athlete and coach for the 'Sokół' organization. From 1928 to 1939, he served as the head of the Krakow branch of this organization. He competed in the World Gymnastics Championships in Budapest (1934) and Prague (1938) and was a participant in the Berlin Olympics in 1936. After the war, with immense energy and dedication, he devoted himself to the reconstruction of this sport, reactivating 'Sokół,' coaching athletes in AZS, Cracovia, Wawel, and Wisła. He also worked in regional authorities and the Polish Gymnastics Association. He served as the coach of the national men's team and played this role at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. For his significant contributions to Polish sports, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. HONOR HIS MEMORY!"
